“How to be a Hero” is an amazing picture book about a boy who is obsessed with heroes and being published in the newspaper for his courageous acts. After reading all of the fairy tales, he isn’t sure how to do it…be a hero. He thinks you have to be brave, strong, and smart….but is that enough?

The story’s emphasis is about keeping your eyes open and aware so you can be at the right place at the right time. Highlighting the newspaper, the young boy’s dream is to be on the front pages of his local gazette.

Matt Pedigo, owner and operator of Citizen-Times Newspaper in Scottsville, Kentucky will give children a brief history of their local newspaper establishment. While virtual learning is the new normal, there is something nostalgic about picking up the paper to read the latest news from your hometown.
