SUMMARY:Charlotte Dupuy: Suing for Freedom
DESCRIPTION:The Kentucky Humanities Council presents Elizabeth Lawson as Charlotte Dupuy. \n“Charlotte Dupuy was born in Camridge\, Maryland\, in 1787.  Her parents\, George and Rachel Stanley\, were owned and enslaved by Daniel Parker.  When she was 8 years old\, Charlotte was sold to James Condon for $100\, forcing her to leave her family.  As the only slave for the Condon family\, Charlotte was tasked with all of the household chores\, as well as raising the Condon children.” \nThis portrayal is brought to you by Kentucky Chautauqua. \n
