Join us on July 12th @ 1:00 as Ed May from the Runaway Puppet Theater presents “An Outstanding Olympic Odyssey.”
The Olympic Games are the leading sporting event.  Every four years fans around the world root for their counties’ athletes as they compete in a variety of events.  Did you ever wonder how the Olympics got to be such a big deal?  Who competed in the first Olympics?  And who came up with the idea for the Olympics, anyway?

Runaway Puppet Theater answers all these questions (and more) in their production An Outstanding Olympic Odyssey!

In An Outstanding Olympic Odyssey you’ll see:

  • Greek hero Pelops compete in a chariot race to win the hand of his true love, Hippodamiea!
  • How it inspired him to start the Olympic games!
  • The people and events that inspired the Marathon, the javelin throw, and the foot race!

In this 50 minute show Runaway Puppet Theater uses hand and shadow puppetry to tell the story of maybe how the Olympics were begun.
