Jason Lindsey is back to do some amazing science with our summer readers! From which planet has the most volcanoes, to why Mars is red, to what the great red spot is on Jupiter, to where the wind is more than 1000 mph, and more, students discover some of the most out of this world science about our amazing solar system.

Based out of Louisville, Kentucky, the KY Science Center is on the road to Allen County! They will have 4-5 stations set up for children and caregivers to engage in STEM activities. This program begins at noon-sharp.  We can't wait to explore science and other subject areas with you.

Animal Tales is an educational program company that brings the live animals to you. Be prepared to get up close and personal with unique animals like you’ve never seen!

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" Learn about apples, how they grow, and Johnny Appleseed himself! We will taste different varieties of apples, drink some local cider, and do a crafty apple activity. "Peter, Peter, pumpkin-eater  Had a wife and couldn't keep her; He put her in a pumpkin shell, And there he kept her very well." We have a fun program planned around our favorite gourd....the pumpkin! Learn about pumpkins, how they grow, what they are used for, and more! Beginning at 10AM on October 11th, the public can come to the library, choose a pumpkin, and decorate it as harvest decor or a spooky addition to their doorstep. We will have 50 pumpkins to choose from.  1st come, 1st serve. For children and their families. Friday, October 11th beginning at 10AM

We are proud to help host the Allen County Historical Society's annual Grave Line Tour.  We will allow tickets to be purchased the evening of the tours in the lobby of the library.  Groups will meet in the Noble Allen Room for a history activity before each tour begins. The Grave Line Tour takes place behind the Allen County Judicial Center in the Scottsville Public Cemetery.  We look forward from hearing from those who have long since passed away, telling us how they helped shape Allen County.
