We are excited to begin a new monthly program to help build confidence in readers of all ages. Every 1st Monday evening @ 6PM, join Ms. Amanda and children of the community. Titles will be selected based on the age of participants and their reading abilities. Ms. Amanda will demonstrate the read-aloud process and then ask for volunteers to hop in her seat to read-aloud to the group. This judgment free zone will cheer on our readers, encouraging them along the way to build self-esteem and confidence. A light snack will be provided.

Perler beads are small, plastic beads that can be arranged on a special pegboard to form a design. After the design is created, they can be permanently fused together using an iron and wax paper. Once cooled, the melted beads can be removed from peg board to reveal a permanent design. This interactive program welcome adults with disabilities and special needs to make crafts, create art, play games, and explore the library. Each program is tailored to the audience's unique interests and ability levels. This month Ms. Mariah will have the Lego's out for adults to make creations. To kick off this fun week with your family, the library is inviting your child to come down to build a cardboard car that they can "drive" to catch a fun showing of a Disney classic. Find out morePerler beads are small, plastic beads that can be arranged on a special pegboard to form a design. After the design is created, they can be permanently fused together using an iron and wax paper. Once cooled, the melted beads can be removed from peg board to reveal a permanent design. These are often used to make key chains, coasters, jewelry, etc. Perler Bead Club has been a popular ongoing program. We will be handing out pumpkins to the first 10 people who can find Corduroy and Amelia Bedelia on the library's front porch (in costume, of course!) There will be a winner in each age group. Those groups will be determined the night of the event.

Tours will begin at the library, for a preview of historical stories and events that have taken place in our wonderful community. Learn about the L&N Depot with Mark Huntsman as he shares what he has done, and what is to come in the preservation of the old depot located on Main St. After this short history lesson, tours will be led to the gates of the Old Scottsville Cemetery where actors depict those who lie beneath the tombstones.
