This week, we will be talking about the planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune! Mrs. Amanda will always believe that Pluto is a planet, so he’ll get some love too. <3
A fun video will be shown introducing the planets. After video and book discussions, an activity will take place where kids can put their own spin on what they think the planets look like. Creations will be displayed in the upstairs children’s windows as beautiful suncatchers.
Books discussed will be Skippyjon Jones: Lost in Spice by Judy Schachner, Out There by Tom Sullivan, and The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System by Joanna Cole.
Our craft will look something like this:
Learn how to create a unique dragon egg using a hollow chicken egg.
This program is part of the Teen Summer Reading Program, but all can participate.
Learn how to create your own custom board to display your goals and future
plans.
