Registration is open for Prime Time Family Reading.  Space is limited to thirty families. Join us for weekly storytelling, reading and discussion sessions featuring award-winning children’s books. Sessions are directed by trained storytellers and scholars.  By participating in PRIME TIME, you will help your child enjoy reading and share ideas, explore together topics such as community, fairness, and determination, learn more about community, and your public library resources, and plant the seeds for future academic success. A free meal will be provided as well as child care for siblings. Call 270-237-3861 to register for this free program. Library News for January 2, 2019

Happy New Year.  If you’re short on cash after the holidays, stop by to see us for free books, music, and movies to check out.  Library cards are free. Just provide us with a photo I.D. and a piece of recently postmarked mail.

We’ll be offering “Food for Fines” during the month of January. If your library card is blocked due to money owed for lost items or overdue fees, we’ll waive a dollar for each non-perishable food item donated.  At the end of the month, we’ll be delivering the food collected to the Senior Citizen Center’s food bank.  We’ll accept food donations from anyone, so if you have extra items in your pantry, feel free to drop them off at the library.

On Wednesday,  January 2 at 5:00 pm, we’ll be offering assistance to patrons who need help with their electronic devices. Bring your device, cords, maybe even a manual and we’ll do our best to help you get comfortable using your new device.  This program is for any age patron trying to learn how to use electronic devices such as E-readers and smart phones.

Our adult book club will meet on Tuesday, January 22 at 1:00 pm. This month, we’re reading Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig. Stop by the circulation desk and ask for a copy.  We’ll also be selecting  books to read throughout 2019, so join us.
