Allen County Public Library News – November 22, 2023

The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.

The library will close at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, and be closed for Thanksgiving on November 23. The library will be OPEN on Friday and Saturday, November 24-25, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Be sure to stop by early and stock up on books, movies, and music for the holiday season.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. Home-school teens are invited to Enrichment on Monday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m.  The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Library News for November 7, 2023

If you’d like to learn to knit or crochet, join us for Strings ‘n Things on Wednesdays at 2:30.  We’ll provide new participants with a starter kit.  All you need to do is register for the program under our events tab and show up.

On Tuesday, November 14, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. the library is partnering with WKU’s Educational Opportunity Center to host a Community Resource Fair. Local organizations will provide information on different educational opportunities, job placement, financial assistance, and health care. If you or someone in your family is interested in continuing their education, this is the place to learn more.

The Homeschool Coders meet the first Monday of each month at 2:00 pm. Space is limited to six students, so register today @ www.allencountylibrary.com under the events tab.

The Teen Art Guild (T.A.G.) will meet on Tuesday, November 7 at 3:30 pm. If you have an interest in learning different art techniques, this is the group for you. Space is limited, so register online.

Join us for Pioneer Days on Friday, November 3, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 for First Friday. Kids can make a corn husk doll and play various pioneer-day games.

In November, our book clubs are reading, The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan, and The Broken Girls by Simone St. James. Stop by the circulation desk to pick up your copy today.
