Allen County Public Library News – September 27, 2023

The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 am – to 7:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am – to 4:00 pm.

If you’d like to learn to knit or crochet, join us for Strings ‘n Things on Wednesdays at 2:30. We’ll provide new participants with a starter kit. All you need to do is register for the program under our events tab and show up.

Our book club, “Books on the Square,” meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm. In October, we’re reading I’m Not Dying with You Tonight by Gilly Segal. We also have a Murder/Mystery Book club called “There’s a Mystery at the Library” that meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm. In October, we’re reading Open Season by C.J. Box. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of either book so you can join the conversation. There are no right or wrong answers, but lots of book talk. We hope you’ll join us.

Animal Tales will be at the library on Thursday, October 5, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm with their Creepy Critters for fall break. Their animal ambassador for the program may include a python, tarantula, scorpion, hissing cockroach, and rat. Kids of all ages are invited to this free program.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 am. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com. On Tuesday at 1:00 pm, Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Teens are invited to an acrylic painting class on Saturday, September 30, from 9:30 – 11:30 am. All supplies will be provided by the Scottsville Art Guild. Space is limited to ten, so register for this free program by clicking on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com

The most popular courses include: Coaching, Digital Photography, Basic Math 101, Resume Writing 101, and Computer Literacy – Computer Basics.
