Allen County Public Library News – July 12, 2023

 

The library building is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Did you know the average child loses two months of reading skills over the summer? You can help avoid the slide by registering your child for Summer Reading and encouraging your child to read for twenty minutes daily. We have thousands of books from which to choose. There’s something for everyone at the Allen County Public Library.

On Thursday, July 13, at 2:00 pm, teens are invited to a Scavenger Hunt in the library. You’ll learn about the history and local businesses as you study the clues and figure out what’s hidden in the library. Participants will have the chance to win a $25 gift card.

Children twelve and under are invited to the Barry Mitchell and Friends Puppet Show on Tuesday, July 18, at 1:00 pm. This program is full of clean humor, silly jokes, magic tricks, and puppets galore.

To get a free library card, call 270-237-3861 or stop by the library with a photo I.D. and a recently postmarked piece of mail. Then you’ll be able to check out or download library materials. Also, if there’s a particular book, movie, or music artist you would like added to the collection, please let us know. We’ll do our best to fulfill your requests.
