Allen County Public Library News – July 19, 2023

The library building is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Summer reading is winding down, and it’s time to turn in your summer reading logs. To be eligible for prizes, reading logs must be turned in to Mrs. Amanda by Friday, July 21, before the library closes at 4:00 pm. We will check the book drop before closing. We cannot accept reading logs late, but you can always turn in your reading logs early. So don’t procrastinate and miss out. We’ll award summer reading prizes on Tuesday, July 25. We hope kids will be pleased to receive a $5.00 gift card from Sonic, a $5.00 gift card from Dairy Queen, and a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Thank you to Pizza Hut for donating to our summer reading program. A big thank you to the parents and caregivers who brought kids to the library all summer long. We hope you’ll continue to make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

On Thursday, July 20, at 2:00 pm, teens are invited to celebrate friendship by creating custom friendship bracelets. All supplies will be provided.

Smokey the Bear and representatives from  U.S. Forestry Department will be at the library on Tuesday, July 25, at 1:00 pm to teach families the importance of fire safety. We are all better when we ALL work together.
