Allen County Public Library News – June 18, 2025

 The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Summer reading is here!  This year’s theme is Color Our World , and the library is ready to host a variety of events for children, families, teens, and adults this summer.  Register online at www.allencountylibrary.com.  Those who register will receive the necessary materials to help navigate the Summer Reading Programs.  Rules, a schedule of events, and other information will be provided at the library. Kids who turn in their reading logs on time will receive gift cards to local restaurants. Adults and teens will also have the chance to earn prizes.

On Tuesday, June 24 at 1:00 pm, Barry Mitchell will present The Show of Many Colors and a Chicken.  He will combine buckets of colorful excitement in a fun-filled collage. Sam the turtle is back as a wisecracking art critic. Hyena wants to be appreciated for his chicken scratches. And Mr. Barry brings a kaleidoscope of colorful magic to inspire the artist in all of us. Wear your most colorful clothes and join us for buckets of funny stuff. All colors welcome except for Pickle Green. Leave your pickles at home, please. This program is designed for kids grades K-6.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die Cut Shapes, and more. Sign up today.
