The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com.We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die Cut Shapes, and more. Sign up today.

On Friday, April 4th, the library will be kicking off First Friday on the front porch with kindergarten readiness activities. The Regional Collaborative will be giving away kindergarten readiness packs full of items that will help your pre-schooler prepare for kindergarten.

On Monday, March 17 at 6:00 pm, the general public is invited to hear Sam Terry, historian, author, speaker and creator of a popular blog sharing Kentucky history. History buffs won’t want to miss Mr. Terry’s presentation on 10 Kentuckians Everyone Should Know. While serving as managing editor of his local newspaper, his syndicated weekly column, “My Kentucky,” evolved into “Sam Terry’s Kentucky,” a daily blog featuring a mini-lesson in Kentucky history for each date on the calendar.  Now, seven years later, the blog serves up a daily dose of history to 42,000 subscribers, while the social media version averages over one million monthly readers.
