Allen County Public Library News – December 11, 2024
The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Santa Bob will be at the library on Monday, December 16, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Parents are encouraged to make an appointment with Santa @ www.allencountylibrary.com under the events tab because we want to ensure all children have ample time with Santa. A K-Ready Christmas Palooza will also occur while children wait to see Santa. Children five and under will be able to participate in a variety of activities that the Regional Collaborative has put together. Stations will be set up for all ages to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit.
Registration is open for Prime Time Family Reading. Prime Time introduces children and their families to the humanities through storytelling and discussions that build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. At the heart of the program are carefully chosen, humanities-rich children’s books. Participating families receive copies of each book to begin or expand their own libraries. We’ll meet on Thursdays starting January 16, 2025. A meal will be served at 5:00 and we’ll start the program at 5:30 pm.
Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die Cut Shapes, and more. Sign up today.
