The library building is open to the public Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com.We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die-Cut Shapes, and more. Sign up today.

On Friday, November 1 at 6:00 PM, join us on the porch for First Friday with the Ky. Fish & Wildlife Department.  Dress in your Camo and join the Turkey Call Competition. Prizes will be awarded to the best turkey callers.

Our outreach vehicle is on the go. Ms. Mariah visits the Allen County fire halls once per month. The outreach vehicle is stocked with books, magazines, newspapers, and DVDs for people of all ages. She also has copies of the most popular forms, such as driver’s license renewal and social security card replacement forms. If you need something notarized, she can take care of it for you. Next week, on Monday, October 21,  the outreach vehicle will be at Stony Point on Stony Point Road at 10:00 am. At 11:30 am, the outreach vehicle will be at the Trammel Fire Department on Trammel Road, and at 2:00 pm, the outreach vehicle will be at the Halifax Fire Department on Halifax-Bailey Road.

Allen County Library News – October 2, 2024

Thank you to the Friends of the Library who organized the annual book sale. We couldn’t have done it without the help of Lisa Marr and the ladies from the detention center. Thank you! Over five-hundred bags of books found new homes. We appreciate the community support.

The library is excited to partner with the Allen County Historical Society for the Graveline tour at the Old Scottsville Cemetery. The doors open at 5:30 PM each night, with the last tour ending at 9:00 PM. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Graveline Tour will start at the Library on Friday October 4 and Saturday October 5. All proceeds go to Allen County Historical Society.
