Allen County Public Library News – July 30, 2025
The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Summer reading is over, and we would like to thank all the parents and guardians who brought their children to the library this summer. A total of 394 children submitted reading logs and earned free gift cards to McDonald’s, Sonic, and Dairy Queen. We estimate that they logged 4,416 hours of reading during the summer reading. Way to go, kids.
We also had 69 teens participate in summer reading. Congratulations to Aaliyah Thomas, Jayden Thomas, Lelend Loyd, Blakely, and Julie Hogue, who won gift cards.
An amazing 138 adults registered for our summer reading programs, our highest participation to date. Congratulations to Rhonda Warden, Delonday McCoy, and Roxanne Johnston, who won themed gift baskets.
Our regular programming will resume in September. Until that time, the library offers over six hundred free online courses in the following areas of study: accounting, alternative medicine, crafts & hobbies, business, career training, computer training, entrepreneurship, finance, health & medicine, homeschooling, language arts, law/legal/criminal, office skills, parenting & family, personal development, psychology, science, self-help, special education, spiritual studies, teacher resources, test preparation and writing skills.
