Allen County Public Library News – December 3, 2025

The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our digital library never closes. You can download free e-books, audiobooks, and television shows with an active library card. Download the Libby and Hoopla apps to access our digital materials. There are thousands of items to choose from.

The library offers over six hundred free online courses in the following areas of study: accounting, alternative medicine, crafts & hobbies, business, career training, computer training, entrepreneurship, finance, health & medicine, homeschooling, language arts, law/legal/criminal, office skills, parenting & family, personal development, psychology, science, self-help, special education, spiritual studies, teacher resources, test preparation and writing skills. On Friday, December 5, at 6:00 pm, join us on the front porch for Christmas Palooza with Mrs. Claus for stories. Kindergarten-readiness activities will be provided for children ages five and under.

Registration is now open for visits with Santa Bob at the library on December 15. He’ll arrive at 5:00 pm, and the last visit is at 6:30 pm.  Register your child today as space is limited.

You can also register your pre-schooler for the Polar Express Story Time on December 16 at various times at the Scottsville Train Depot. Conductor Mark Huntsman will be stamping tickets, and volunteers from the depot will read The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. A craft activity will also be provided for kids. Sign up today, as space is limited.
