Allen County Public Library News – January 21, 2026

The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our digital library never closes. You can download free e-books, audiobooks, and television shows if you have an active library card. Download the Libby and Hoopla apps to access our digital materials. There are thousands of items from which to choose.

Registration is open for our Winter Reading Program. Adults, teens, and kids can register at the library or on our website, www.allencountylibrary.com, to get a participation log to complete. Participants will include books read, programs attended, and activities participated in at the library. Once reading/activity logs are complete, participants will receive a prize and be entered for a grand prize drawing at the end of February. Check our website for upcoming events.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s spot, or click on the Events tab at www.allencountylibrary.com. Disney, Dog Man: Big Jim Believes: A Graphic Novel (Dog Man #14) by Dav Pilkey, Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior: Hour of Enchantment by Cube Kid, and Confessions from the Group Chat by Jodi Meadows.

New books on the adult fiction shelf include: A Murder in the Making by Victoria Laurie, The Italian Secret by Tara Moss, House of Day, House of Night by Olga Tokarczuk, House of Bane and Blood and City of Mirth and Malice by Alexis L. Menard, Heavenly Bodies and Fallen Stars by Imani Erriu, The Forgotten Book Club by Kate Storey, Closing Time by Michael Ledwidge, The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole, Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino, and One Small Mistake by Dandy Smith.

New books on the adult non-fiction shelf include: 100 Rules for Living to 100 by Dick Van Dyke, How to Test Negative for Stupid by John Kennedy, The Greatest Sentence Ever Written by Walter Isaacson, Paying Kind Attention: 30 Days to Awaken Your Superpower by Dianna C.
