The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.
Our summer reading kickoff starts on First Friday, June 7, on the library’s front porch. Join us from 6-8 pm and register for Summer Reading. Adventure begins at your library, and we plan adventures for children, teens, and adults. On First Friday, kids can visit our photo booth, run the chalk obstacle course, join in a scavenger hunt, and more! Did you know the average child loses two months of reading skills over the summer? You can help avoid the slide by registering your child for Summer Reading and encouraging your child to read for twenty minutes daily. We have thousands of books from which to choose. There’s something for everyone at the Allen County Public Library.
On Tuesday, June 11, at 1:00 pm, kids are invited to Science Adventures with Jason Lindsey @ Hooked On Science. Kids will enjoy learning about science as he shows off some amazing activities and experiments.
Thanks to our Friends of the Library, we’re giving prizes to kids who register for summer reading and turn in their reading log by Friday, July 23, 2024. Kids can win a $5.00 Dairy Queen gift card and a $5.00 Sonic gift card. If you can’t make it to First Friday, you can register online at www.allencountylibrary.com or stop by the library during our regular business hours.
Discover the endless possibilities of our Maker Space during Tinker Time every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Whether you’re a seasoned creator or just starting out, our equipment—a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, and more—is at your disposal. Register online for project assistance, or drop by to explore the space and ask questions. Start your creative journey with us today.
