Allen County Public Library News – September 4, 2024

The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.

Our outreach vehicle is on the go. Ms. Mariah has just started visiting each of the Allen County fire halls once per month. The outreach vehicle is stocked with books, magazines, newspapers, and DVDs for people of all ages. She also has copies of the most popular forms, such as driver’s license renewal and social security card replacement forms. If you need something notarized, she can take care of it for you. Next week, on Monday, September 9, the outreach vehicle will be at Cedar Springs #1 on Cedar Springs Road from 10:00 am until 11:00, and then move to Cedar Springs #2 on Brownsford Road from 11:30 – 12:30.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. Click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com to register for programs. We hope you’ll make visiting the library with your children a part of your weekly routine.

On Friday, September 13 at 10:00 am, we are offering an embroidery applique class in our maker space. Also, Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroider Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, and more. Sign up today.

Our annual Friends of the Library book sale will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21, 2024.  If you have gently used books you’d like to donate, please drop them by the library. We appreciate the community support.

Once you have your card, a world of books, movies, and music will be at your fingertips. And remember, your voice matters.
