Library News for October 3, 2018

Our weekly programs for children include: Baby Time on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm. Toddlers Time is on Thursdays at 10:00 am, Stories & More for pre-school children meet on Tuesdays at 10:00 am, and enrichment programs for homeschool youth meet on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm. We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your child’s weekly routine.

On Thursday, October 4 at 5:00 pm, teens are invited to learn how to create artwork using   Alcohol Ink.  Call 270-237-3861 to register for this free program as space is limited.

Adults are invited to a fall decorting class on Saturday, October 6 at 10:00. Participants will make a door hanger. Call 270-237-3861 to pre-register for this free class.

If you want to learn how to knit to crochet, Loose Ends will teach you. Stop by the library on Tuesdays at 3:30.  First time crafters will be supplied with a crochet hook, or knitting needles and yarn to start.

Summer Lovin’ Movie Night is scheduled for Tuesday, August 21 at 5 PM.  We can’t share the name of the movie but the main character is a widowed father in Seattle who can’t sleep.  We’ll be serving Starbuck’s coffee and donuts during the movie.

Library News for August 8, 2018

Thank you to all the adults who brought young readers to the library during summer reading.  It was a blast, but keep reading the “Library News” for updates of weekly activities going on in the library. Follow us on Facebook.

Children up to age twelve are invited to our Drive-In Movie at the library on Monday, August 13 at 5:00 pm. We’ll be showing a Disney film featuring a boy who dreams of becoming a great musician and embarks on a journey to discover the mysteries behind his ancestors stories and traditions. We can’t advertise the name of the movie, but you can call us at 270-237-3861 to learn more. All children must have an adult companion.

All school age children are invited to Lego My Library on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 am. This month’s build challenge will be building with 100 pre-selected bricks.  (Children are always welcome to free-style build if they prefer not to compete.)

It’s hard to believe school will be starting in a just a few days. Did you know that all students registered in the Allen County School District are issued a free Allen County Public Library card unless the parent opts out?  All students have access to our library books and many digital products. Call us at 270-237-3861 to find learn about all the resources we have to help your students. If you have the internet, you don’t even have to come in.
