Allen County Public Library News – June 26, 2024

 The library will be closed for Independence Day on Thursday, July 4th. Unless it’s a holiday, the library building is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Calling all crafters. Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroider Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, and more. Sign up today.

Adventure begins at your library, and we have special Summer Reading programs for children, teens, and adults. Did you know the average child loses two months of reading skills over the summer? You can help avoid the slide by registering your child for Summer Reading and encouraging your child to read for twenty minutes daily. We have thousands of books from which to choose, and kids who turn in their reading logs on time will earn gift cards to Sonic and Dairy Queen, thanks to the Friends of the Library.

Getting a free library card is easy. Call 270-237-3861 or visit us with a photo I.D. and recently postmarked mail. Once you have your card, a world of books, movies, and music will be at your fingertips. And remember, your voice matters.
