Allen County Public Library News – March 13, 2024

The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.

The next solar eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024. The library is giving away free solar eclipse glasses at the circulation desk. Families may request up to four pairs of glasses for free.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. We hope you’ll make visiting the library with your children a part of your weekly routine.

Check out items from our newest addition, our Library of Things. There are special baking pans, a sewing machine, an electric drill, a ukelele, and more. It’s located by the circulation desk in the library.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroider Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, and more. Sign up today.

To get a free library card, call 270-237-3861 or stop by the library with a photo I.D. and recently postmarked mail. Then, you’ll be able to check out or download library materials. Also, please let us know if there’s a particular book, movie, or music artist you would like added to the collection. We’ll do our best to fulfill your requests.
