Allen County Public Library News – October 16, 2024

The library building is open to the public Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.

Pre-school children are invited to participate in our Trick or Treat Parade on Friday, October 25th at 10:00 am.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com.We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Our outreach vehicle is on the go. Ms. Mariah visits the Allen County fire halls once per month. The outreach vehicle is stocked with books, magazines, newspapers, and DVDs for people of all ages. She also has copies of the most popular forms, such as driver’s license renewal and social security card replacement forms. If you need something notarized, she can take care of it for you. Next week, on Monday, October 21,  the outreach vehicle will be at Stony Point on Stony Point Road at 10:00 am. At 11:30 am, the outreach vehicle will be at the Trammel Fire Department on Trammel Road, and at 2:00 pm, the outreach vehicle will be at the Halifax Fire Department on Halifax-Bailey Road.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 pm. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die Cut Shapes, and more. Sign up today.

Once you have your card, a world of books, movies, and music will be at your fingertips. And remember, your voice matters.
