Library News for January 17, 2018

The library will host an open house on Friday, January 19 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm to celebrate our affiliate partnership with the South Central Kentucky Workforce Development Board. Stop by to see how the Allen County Public Library staff  help connect job seekers with local businesses seeking employees. Light refreshments will be served.

Preschool children are invited to Story Hour on Tuesdays at 10:00 am and Saturdays at 1:00 pm. Toddler Time is Thursdays at 10:00 am. We hope you make visiting the library a part of your child’s weekly routine.

Parents with toddlers/infants are invited to join us on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm for Baby Time.  Ms. Amanda will help you introduce your child to the magic of books and creative play.

On Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 am, school age children are invited to the Lego Block Party. We’ll show a mystery Lego movie whose title we are not allowed to publish, but stop by the library to pre-register and you’ll see flyers.  Food and fun will be provided.

Loose Ends will teach you to knit or crochet. Crafters meet every Tuesday at 3:30. Supplies are provided for beginners.

Kids ages 10 – 18 are invited to Build an Igloo on Thursday, January 25 at 5:00 pm. All supplies will be provided, but registration is required for this free program.

On Wednesday, January 31 at 2:00 pm, Ms. Chelsea is introducing chair yoga. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing, using a chair for support.
