Library News for May 31

The Friends of the Library book sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3 from 9:00 – 4:00.   The price of the books will be Book-Sale-Banner$1.00 per plastic grocery bag. Stop by for great reads at a bargain price.

Preschool children can attend Story Hour on Tuesday at 10:00 am and Saturday’s at 1:00 pm. Toddler Time is Thursday at 10:00 am. We hope visiting the library with your child is part of our weekly routine.

Summer Reading registration starts on Monday, June 5th. Stop by and pick up reading logs for kids and a calendar of events. Prizes will be awarded to every child who turns in a reading log at the end of the summer.

We have hundreds of buggy prizes for kids who join the Buggy Book Club. Last year, the Allen County Primary students won a day of inflatables for their school because so many kids visited the library during summer break.  It will be fun to see which school wins a prize this year.

On Thursday, June 1, at 5:00 pm, the Perler Beard Art Club will meet and create unique items.  This program is for students ages 12 – 18.

On Saturday, June 10th kids  from Noon – 4:00 pm, kids ages 12-18 will want to attend Build a Hydraulic Robot Arm. Space is limited to 10 participants, so call 237-3861 to register today.

On Monday, June 12 at 5:00 pm, we’ll have Stories and More on the library’s front porch with our local heroes, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.  Kids will have the opportunity to check out a patrol car and we’ll also have ice cream sandwiches for all.  Register for this free program by calling 237-3861.  (We need to know how many ice cream sandwiches to have on hand.)

Library cards are free with a photo I.D. and a recently postmarked piece of mail.  If there’s a special book, movie, or music artist you would like to see offered, please let us know.
