Allen County Public Library News – January 14, 2026

The Library will be closed on Monday, January 19th, for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Unless it’s a holiday, the library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our digital library never closes. You can download free e-books, audiobooks, and television shows if you have an active library card. Download the Libby and Hoopla apps to access our digital materials. There are thousands of items to choose from.

Registration is open for our Winter Reading Program. Adults, teens, and kids can register at the library or on our website, www.allencountylibrary.com, to get a participation log to complete. Participants will include books read, programs attended, and activities participated in at the library. Once reading/activity logs are complete, participants will receive a prize and be entered for a grand prize drawing at the end of February. Check our website for upcoming events.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s spot, or click on the Events tab at www.allencountylibrary.com. New books on the adult fiction shelf include: Spasm by Robin Cook, Dark Joy by Christine Feehan, The Christmas King by Karen Kingsbury, The Invisible Woman by James Patterson and Susan DiLallo, Order of Royals by Jude Deveraux, Only Way Out by Tod Goldberg, , The Shop on Hidden Lane by Jayne Ann Krentz, The Secret Christmas Library by Jenny Colgan, The Right to Remain by James Grippando, and Remember that Day by Mary Balogh.

New books on the adult non-fiction shelf include: Portraits of Ukraine: A Nation at War by Gregory W. Slayton, What Matters in Jane Austen? by John Mullan, The Wounded Generation: Coming Home After World War II by David Nasaw, The Zorg: A Tale of Greed and Murder That Inspired the Abolition of Slavery by Siddharth Kara, The Five Habits of Hope by Julia Garcia.
