Allen County Public Library News for December 4, 2024

The library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Mrs. Claus and friends will be at the library on Friday, December 6th, beginning at 6 pm for stories and more! Children can attend read-aloud sessions with Mrs. Claus and receive a take-home activity from her elves.

Santa Bob will be at the library on Monday, December 16, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.  Parents are encouraged to make an appointment with Santa @ www.allencountylibrary.com under the events tab because we want to ensure all children have ample time with Santa.  A K-Ready Christmas Palooza will also occur while children wait to see Santa. Children five and under can participate in a variety of activities that the Regional Collaborative has put together. Stations will be set up for all ages to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may choose from two Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. The Inbetweens, students ages 10-12, meet on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place, or click on the events tab @ www.allencountylibrary.com.We hope you’ll make visiting the library a part of your weekly routine.

Tinker Time in our Maker Space is open every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Register online for help with your projects, or stop by to explore the space and ask questions. Equipment includes a Poster Printer, Embroidery Machine, Cricut Vinyl Cutter, Ellison Die-Cut Shapes, and more.

Getting a free library card is easy. Call 270-237-3861 or visit us with a photo I.D. and recently postmarked mail. Once you have your card, a world of books, movies, and music will be at your fingertips. And remember, your voice matters.
