Library News for January 14, 2015

The library will be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will re-open on Tuesday, January 20 at 9:00 am.

If you received a new electronic device such as an e-reader or smart phone and need help learning how to download free digital material from the library, call 237-3861 and make an appointment with Ms. Amanda or Ms. Jamie.  We’ll be happy to help you.

We’ll help you keep your New Year’s Resolutions with our program offerings in January.  On Thursday, January 15, Dustin Richards from The Core will present a program on choosing the right fitness plan. We’ll learn the difference between Zumba, Yoga, Water Aerobics and more. Space is limited. Sign up by calling 237-3861. This program will be offered at 12:00 noon and at 5:30 pm.  We’ll have a prize drawing for a one-month family membership to The Core.

On Thursday, January 22, Angela Smotherman, dietetic intern with the Allen County Health Department, will present a program to learn about smoking cessation, tips for eating healthy on the run, and exercises you can do at your desk.  This program will be offered at 12:00 noon and again at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 22. Sign up today. We’ll have a prize drawing for a one-month family membership to The Core.

Story hour for pre-school children is offered on Tuesday at 10:00 and Toddler Time meets on Thursday at 10:00 am. School age children are welcome to attend enrichment programs on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. The Cool Kids Book Club meets on Wednesday’s at 1:00 pm.  We hope you’ll make visiting the library with your child a part of your weekly routine.

 To borrow books, movies or music from the library, simply get a library card. Library cards are free.  You need a photo I.D. and a recently postmarked piece of mail.  If there’s a special book, movie, or music artist you would like to see offered, please let us know.
