Allen County Public Library News – November 23, 2022

The library will be closed on Thursday, November 24, 2022, for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will re-open at 9:00 am on Friday, November 25, 2022

Unless it’s a holiday, the library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Parents/guardians may choose from three Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 am and on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place. On Tuesday at 1:00 pm, Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs. On Thursdays at 2:00 pm, Home-School teens are invited to enrichment programs.

If you are homebound, we are happy to make non-contact home deliveries. Call Ms. Delonda at 270-237-3861 if you need this service.

Kids are invited to visit library staff in the library courtyard starting at 6:00 pm on Friday, November 4th for First Friday. Kids can pick up a craft kit and create a Thanksgiving art project. Come early, as supplies are limited to the first 100 children.

Thanks in advance to the Scottsville Police Department for agreeing to help us cross streets safely and a huge thank you to the downtown merchants who agreed to distribute treats to the kiddos.

Allen County Public Library News – October 12, 2022

 

The library building is open to the public on Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Toddlers are invited to Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Parents may choose from three Pre-K Story Hours for their preschool-age child. We’ll offer the same program on Tuesday and  Thursday at 10:00 am and on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. Call 270-237-3861 to reserve your child’s place. We will read the same book in each program. On Tuesday at 1:00 pm, Home-School children ages 5-12 are invited to enrichment programs.

School-age children are invited to Lego My Library on Saturday, October 15, at 11:00 am. Ms. Abby will have a building challenge ready for creative builders.

If you are homebound, we are happy to make non-contact home deliveries. Call Ms. Delonda at 270-237-3861 if you need this service.

Are you a crafter? If so, we’re offering tours and training for our Maker-Space on Thursday, October 20, and on Monday, October 24, at 5:00 pm. We have an embroidery machine, 3-D printer, button maker, and Cricut (electronic cutting machine) that can cut all sorts of designs from materials like vinyl, card stock, and iron-on transfers. Space is limited to 10 people, so call 270-237-3861 to register. Patrons must be trained before reserving the maker space.

On Monday, October 3, kids are invited to our Drive-In @ the Library. We’ll decorate cars made from boxes and then drive to the story hour room to watch an animated Disney movie featuring a unique red automobile. We will decorate our cars at 4:00 pm. Snacks will be served at 4:45 pm. The movie will begin at 5:00 pm.
